Happy Easter From Asheville!

This weekend Asheville hosted “Easter on the Green”.  It is the first Festival that we attended here in Asheville, after our move, last year.  That’s right, can you believe it?  We have now officially been here in Asheville for one year!  So much has happened in the past year.  So many new experiences for all of us!  Who would have thought that, after a year in Asheville, we would be gearing up to welcome BF2 into the world?

Back to the festival…it was a fun, family friendly festival with lots of blow-up slides, bouncy houses, and an egg hunt.  This year was the first time that Holden participated in an Egg Hunt.  Prior to the start, Matt explained what it was all about gave him some pointers. Holden stood there, deep in thought before the start…not too sure what this was all about. So the people running the hunt directed the kids to start and they were off, Holden carried his bag toward a set of orange and yellow eggs without much urgency, while the other kids ran in.  Then, right before his eyes, the orange and yellow eggs were scooped up and Holden turned around and started walking back toward me, crying his little eyes out.  My heart broke for him.  Matt ran in (even though parents were not allowed) and tried to help him scoop up an egg but it was too late, all of the eggs were gone.  Luckily the nice man who was directing the event had one on the side that he gave to Holden.  Holden immediately announced that he found the egg before all of the other kids with such pride.  It’s amazing how resilient kids can be.  The egg hunt did not ruin our day:) Yay!  Here’s a brief clip of Holden’s adventure in egg hunting.

The giant slide this year brought a look of terror and a look of pure joy into Holden’s eyes. It all happened so quickly so it was hard to capture on the video:)

Also the event had a kids mural that was being painted by any child who wanted to add to it. It will be hung at the local Earth Fare Supermarket.  Pretty cool.  Holden did a lot of the yellow painting on the right side.  It started out as a big H and then became train tracks.

So Happy Easter to all!  We plan to make a nice dinner tonight and enjoy a relaxing fire together.  Best wishes to everyone:)

Holden and Daddy Sing-A-Long

Holden loves all types of music.  Last night he went to bed with his ukalele, saying it was his banjo, just like “Seth the Banjo Player.”  He also pretended that he had on his finger picks when he went to sleep as well, just like Seth:)  Seth is a great banjo player who we often see playing Bluegrass around Asheville.  Recently, Holden has also been getting into  rhythm and really appreciates punk rock as well.  Like I said, he appreciates a wide variety!  So here he is singing a Bad Religion song with Daddy with his air guitar.  Ever since he became familiar with this song he will say that he has sorrow when he is sad:)

Holden the Fire Helper

We were so excited to make a fire in our fireplace in the new house!  As Matt was getting the supplies ready, Holden ran off and came back dressed as our “fire helper.”  As you know he loves a costume with great accessories so here he is!  Sorry the picture is a little bit blurry but I think you get the point:)

Snow!

IMG_3267

Well, when they say it is going to snow here in Asheville, we get nothing.  Then when there is no talk of snow, we wake up to some:)  Holden was calling for me to look out the window this morning at the snow.  I said, it must be frost which can look somewhat white when it is really cold.  He was convinced that it was snow and, when we went to look, it truly was a little bit of snow.  Then Holden asked if Santa was going to come today because it snowed.  So cute!  He got concerned that Santa had never been to our new house so he decided to write him a letter.  Smart little guy!  Well the dusting won’t last long but it sure is another great excuse to build a fire in the fireplace for sure today!

Life on Kenilworth Road

We are so happy to be in our new house! It is such a great space for us.  On move in day, it was time for Holden to take a nap, unfortunately his bed was not quite put together.  That did not stop Holden, Linus, and Sascha from taking a nice nap together:)

Holden has been obsessed with Legos lately. Nannie bought him some awesome Legos as his house warming gift which he plays with every day. On top of that, he is into all of my old little Lego people and can spend hours playing with all of them.

Even Sascha, who normally hates being outside for long periods of time, is enjoying soaking up the sun in our new backyard!

Here’s our great use of packing paper:) Holden loved it!

Nannie’s first car trip to Asheville

Nannie decided to hop in our car to ride from Maryland to Asheville in order to help us move.  It was her first long car ride with the Frazier clan and I think she and Holden kept each other pretty well entertained.

IMG_3202 IMG_3204 IMG_3206We owe a huge thanks to Nannie for her help during her week here in Asheville.  Her being here made our move so much easier!

Cookies and Moving

IMG_3176Sorry that it has been a bit of a delay between posts.  Honestly, we have not done anything novel and exciting since we returned from our trip.  The reason being, we are working on packing and moving to a new house in our current neighborhood.  An opportunity came up for us to move into a bigger house that can accommodate our growing family and not take Matt’s office away from him, so we took it.  Hard to believe that we did this just about a year ago!  We are looking forward to this being done and settling into our new house before BF2 arrives.

Here are some pictures of Holden enjoying licking the cookie dough beater and enjoying a yummy cookie!  Enjoy:)

A little vacation before BF2 arrives

For Christmas, Matt surprised me with a trip to visit my brother Kevin and some of our awesome friends. We stayed with Kevin first then traveled up to see a friend of Matt’s from childhood, Brian and his fiancé, Kelly. Then we continued up to see some of my best friends from college and their families, Kim & Adam and Kelly, and their beautiful girls. We had such a great time and although we don’t get to visit them often, we really appreciate the time that we do share together. Unfortunately, I only took pictures with Kevin! I don’t know what happened to me! Maybe pregnancy brain? But even though I don’t have pictures of everyone, we have some great memories:)
